Salisbury Centre Seed Library – Field Day

Join our small team of budding community seed savers as we prepare for the coming growing season. This is a relaxed, hands-on and learning-by-doing session that involves different tasks and learning opportunities including some garden planning, weeding, preparing raised beds, building seed cages out of wood, wire and netting, and sowing some seeds. We will also have plenty of opportunities to discuss any questions or reflections around urban growing and seed saving.

‘Sowing Seeds of Community’ – Spring Equinox celebration

Join the Edinburgh Seed Network at the Salisbury Centre to celebrate the spring equinox, the official launch of our free community seed library and to creatively explore all things seed related. This season is all about ‘Sowing Seeds’…..out in the garden but also sowing care, resilience, ideas, actions and (new) connections. Amongst the many offerings there will be a seed swap, so bring any open-pollinated seeds you’d like to share!

Seedlibrary Storytelling Evening – Crack a Story: Plant a Seed

The second evening in our ‘seedy’ storytelling series with herbal storyteller Amanda Edmiston (Botanica fabula). Amanda will share some stories with us and we will explore feeling into and writing our own stories related to a particular plant and its seeds and think about how to pass them on and share them with others. There will also be space for a crack – the scotish word for a conversation – to discuss, ask questions, and explore the deeper meanings of these stories and how they speak to us and our world today.
